Boarding

All horses at GaitWay Stables receive exemplatory care. Amy has a love for equine nutrition and through lots of research and experimenting has landed on a forage based diet that has allowed us to reduced the volume of feed needed due to the high quality products we feed. Our nutrition program is based on high quality forage (hay and hay pellets/cubes), adding a high quality amino acid supplement, a source of omega 3s and 6s, and a high quality mineral supplement. For those horses that need more calories, we can add a high quality source of fat. Owners provide their own supplements, which we are happy to make suggestions.

Horses receive as much turnout as possible, pending the weather. Our stall boarded horses are on a 12/12 turnout schedule, with our partial stall boarders being out unless we are having extreme weather. Blanketing, as well as fly clothing (masks and sheets) are managed at no extra cost (2 changes per day – AM/PM).

GaitWay has cultivated a skill team of service providers to keep our horses feeling the best they possibly can. We use Flat River Veterinary, Adam Wilkins Farriery, The Nature Equine Bodywork and Wellness, Shen Bright Mobile Veterinary Services (Acupuncture), Casey M Jones Osteopath, Georgia Worley Barefoot Trimming, and Your Expert Fitter (Saddle & Bridle/Bit Fitting).
